Prepare the meat:
1 lb ground meat (italian pork sausage, beef, turkey, etc)
1/2 medium onion, diced to 1/2" cubes
1/2 tbsp ground oregano
1/2 tbsp ground rosemary
1/4 tbsp ground basil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt
Cook above in pan over medium heat until meat is not just browned, but caramelized. Use only enough olive oil to keep meat from scorching. Be sure to scrape off all the meaty bits burnt to the pan!
Prepare the sauce in a crock pot:
2 cans tomato sauce (15 oz each)
2 oz cooked carrots, pureed (about 10 baby carrots)
Add meat mixture and stir.
Add 1/4 cup water to pan and bring to a boil, scraping down the pan. Add to crock pot.
Cook on high for 4-5 hours, checking hourly and scraping down the sides.
